The beauty that doesn't rinse off... ;)

LIP BLUSHING, LIP LINER OR DARK LIP CORRECTION

Lip blushing or ombre lips are a form of semi-permanent makeup. Essentially, they are a cosmetic tattoo of the lips that enhances the beauty of the natural lip color, improving the shape of the lips, giving definition and the illusion of fullness. The color can be chosen, however, the artist will suggest the best color for your skin tone. It normally lasts between 1-3 years depending on skin type.

Please, read elegibility and pre care before making an appointment.

LIP BLUSH PRE CARE

  • Exfoliate lips once a day for a week leading up to the appointment

  • Keep lips moisturized throughout the day as much as possible for a week leading up to the appointment

  • Avoid drinking alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil, the days leading up to the procedure as it may increase pain sensitivity and bleeding

  • Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is safe to drink the day of the appointment and after if you have a low pain threshold or feel sore.

  • Stop use of retinoids or Vitamin A 1 month prior to the procedure as it can increase skin natural exfoliation and compromise your results.

  • If you have any history of cold sores or fever blisters caused by the virus herpes simplex, you may contact your physician to obtain and take an antiviral to prevent an outbreak. It is often recommended to take medicine for at least 2 days before and after the procedure.

LIP BLUSH AFTER CARE

The initial stage of the healing process (and the most noticeable) takes about 7-14 days, and it requires a lot of participation, the guidelines are very important to follow, as otherwise the colour retention will be completely compromised. This stage will be very obvious as this is when the lip aspect changes day by day, the lips with seem extremely chapped and peel during this phase, the colour might also change daily due to oozing lymph and skin exfoliation.

Lip Blush should be treated as a healing wound and to avoid risk of infection these aftercare guidelines should be followed very strictly.

DAYS 1-14

  • ****Take Doctor's prescribed medication as doctor indicates if you have a history of cold sores on lips

  • Avoid spicy foods on lips

  • Drink liquids through straws

  • When possible, cut food into smaller pieces, since lips might feel very chapped and tight, over-

    stretching them may cause soreness.

  • Use only your artists indicated aftercare ointment.

  • Healing ointment should be applied in a thin layer and often through the day ensuring the lips are kept

moisturized and also after every meal. This should be done until the lips have fully exfoliated (No

    longer appear chapped)

  • The lips should be cleansed with a gentle and unscented cleanser, like Cetaphil and pat dried with a

clean cotton pad or gauze pad before applying the ointment.

  • Occasionally the lips may bruise even after the procedure has already been completed.

  • Lips should not be touched unnecessarily or picked on. Doing so increases the risk of infection,

    swelling and pigment loss.

  • Lips should not be exposed excessively or needlessly to water or steam, beyond basic cleaning and

    care.

  • No application of makeup or cosmetics to the lips or any area around the lips where it may come into

contact (run, or bleed) into the lips is recommended. (Includes Spray Tanning)

  • Saunas, pools, steam, or environments with very high humidity should be avoided.

  • Sunbathing and direct exposure to the sun is contraindicated.

  • Sweating on Lips is Contraindicated

  • Kissing can increase risks of infection and should be avoided at least during the first few days.

  • Nothing should be applied to lips other that the aftercare ointment recommended by your artist.

  • Lips may also ooze liquid and possibly bleed slightly in the 24 hours following an appointment, it is

important to cleanse gently and pat dry if this is the case.

  • Swelling should subside within 24-36 hours. An ice pack can be used to help with it.

DAYS 14-30

After the lips have naturally exfoliated and peeled and the lips no longer appear chapped, and you are able to return to your normal beauty routine, although keeping the lips moisturized every day and avoiding excessive sun exposure without SPF will aid in pigment longevity and lifespan.

Touch Up Timeline
(After 6-8 Weeks from initial appointment)

Lip Blush may look up to 50% darker for at least the first few days. This is part of the healing process. They may look harsh and drawn on. As soon as the top layer heals, exfoliates and peels off, the soft colour and natural look will start to resurface.
Please keep in mind, that the fully healed results will be seen once the healing process is completed which averages 6 to 8 weeks. The pigment might look faded, uneven or not visible before then, hence why touch ups are not recommended before the 6-8 week mark.

THE BROW & SOME WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY PROBLEMS CAUSED BY INCORRECT AFTER CARE
