Semi-permanent makeup falls under the category of body art, and it’s important to comply with all state regulations for health and safety.
​
Here’s a step-by-step guide to obtaining your semi-permanent makeup (SPMU) tattoo license in Connecticut:

- You need to complete at least one Permanent Makeup Course with The Brow & Some.
-Register on our Apprenticeship program.
- Complete Red Cross blood borne pathogen course.
- Complete Adult CPR and first aid.
- We will apply for your permit through the state after these courses are done. Once you receive your permit you are able to begin working on clients.
- You will have 2 years to complete 2000 hours of our program before being licensed to work by yourself.

How much is a tattoo Apprentice course?
$18,000 divided in 12 months, you have two years to complete the course.
-Deposit of $1500 is required to hold your spot for our program.
Failure to make the monthly payment will result in termination of program without a refund.

Do I need to complete all those hours in the studio?
You are required to work on clients during your apprenticeship when you feel comfortable to do so. Part of the training can be done online.
We keep track of your hours by filling out a form weekly which we add up to complete the required 2,000 hours for the State of CT.

Can I charge clients while being an apprentice?
YES, we encourage it. Once you are comfortable to do so and have earned your learning license.

Can I get a refund?
Deposits are non-refundable after receiving program material and instructions.
Having your license will allow you to open your own business or work for any other studio in CT.
